Dear Readers,
I have a goal this year to read about 30-40 books. I’m attending school full time, and soon starting a new career so I didn’t want a goal too hard to reach. Here is a list of books I’m hoping to get to in 2025, and the vibes they give off/what am I expecting out of these books.
Fourth Wing Rebecca Yarros
This is a reread. I’m expecting to like this book less this time around, but so far I’ve read about 100 pages and I’m still so invested in the story like it’s the first time.
What My Bones Know Stephanie Foo
This is a memoir that goes into the details of complex PTSD and trauma, and how it affects us into our adult years. I’m not expecting much but lots of tears.
The Nightingale Kristin Hannah
Honestly, I don’t know what this book is about except that it has to do with two sisters during the second world war. I picked up this book because I love reading and writing about women empowerment and strength, and I think it’s going to give me a new perspective on that.
Rock Paper Scissors Alice Feeney
I loved Sometimes I Lie by the same author, so I grabbed this simply on a whim. However, if it’s anything like that book I know I’m in for a thrilling tension filled mystery.
If We Were Villains M.L Rio
I loved Babel by RF Kaung and it gives dark academia, so does this book. I want to feel like the most educated and pretentious douche, but pretty.
Part of Your World Abby Jimenez
I love a good romance novel, and I’ll need some sort of palate cleanser after all the other more intense readings.
Dominicana Angie Cruz
I’m Dominican, I want to read stories about Dominicans. Simple as that.
Before we say goodbye Toshikazu Kawaguchi
I have loved this series since the beginning, and the first three books truly tore my heart apart with the stories of love, sacrifice, and hardships.
Finale Stepanie Garber
I’m ready to finish the Caraval series, I have loved it so far, but I’m ready to put this trilogy to rest and try something new. I’m hoping for more magic in this book, and I know that it’s a split point of view of Scarlett and Donatella so I’m hoping we get a full three dimensional view of both of them as a reader.
The Great Alone Kristin Hannah
I find that Kristin Hannah tackles some interesting time periods, topics, and premises. This book is no different, I’m hoping for something unlike anything I’ve read before.
A Novel Love Story Ashley Poston
A book about a girl who gets trapped in her favorite romance series? Sign me up.
The Dinner List Rebecca Serle
I’m in love with Serle’s writing. After reading In Five Years, I’ve been waiting to read another one of her books. I have no clue if she has any others published, but I saw this on the shelf at Barnes and Nobles and immediately grabbed it. I love the idea of a story that follows the five people, living or dead, Sabrina Nielsen wants to have dinner with.
Vengeful V.E. Schwab
I love Schwab, so much. I loved The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and Vicious, so I’m very ready to read it’s sequel.
